Frequently asked questions

    • The date that a contract was published on StandardContracts.io is set out in the contract title in the footer of that contract, in YY-MM-DD format.

    • E.g., if a contract has “26-01-31” in the footer, that means that that contract was published on StandardContracts.io on 31 January 2026.

    • If a newer version of the same contract is subsequently created and published, the date will be updated, as well as the version number.

    • No. StandardContracts.io will not remove older versions of hyperlinked General Terms from the site. Newer versions will be included in updated Cover Sheets, but older versions will remain in the back end

    • Users should, though, download copies of all General Terms used as a matter of good practice

    • The last three digits in the contract title in the footer of a StandardContracts.io contract show the version of that contract

    • 1.0.0 is the base/original version

    • Cosmetic changes are demonstrated via an update to the last digit (e.g., 1.0.0 to 1.0.1)

    • Minor changes are demonstrated via a change to the middle digit (e.g., 1.0.0 to 1.1.0)

    • Major changes are demonstrated via a change to the first digit (e.g., 1.0.0 to 2.0.0)

    • The date of publication in the contract title in the footer (YY-MM-DD format) will also be updated

    • A new 4-character alphanumeric label (e.g., “ry3f“ or “7s2m”) will be created by our website hosting provider and included in the hyperlink

    • US = United States

    • CA = Canada
